Introduction:

In today's fallen world and what many believe is the end times, we are reminded of the presence of false teachers in 2 Peter 2 & 3. In 3:17-18 we are commanded not be carried away by these false teachings; "You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity."

Often when we see a ministry move away from the simple truth of the Gospel, we ask what can we do and is our voice important against these powerful "men of god"? The answer is simple, we rebuke sin and false teaching that is contrary to the Word of God. No one in the New Testament was given immunity from rebuke regarding sin or false teaching. Nor was any true believer prohibited from doing the rebuking. The Apostle Paul's words to the Galatians in chapter 3:26-28 are clear, "for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

Our simple goal should be to maintain the purity of the of the Gospel and the Church in regards to salvation and living holy acceptable lives unto the Lord.
